For so many Business Travelers, the city of Stamford, Connecticut, is a city that they are very familiar with. Stamford Connecticut is the home to many corporate companies. Stamford’s group of corporate headquarters that are situated within the city include many fortune 500, Fortune 1000 and Courant 100 companies. With all of these these large companies located here, Stamford has been transformed into a city with a much larger infrastructure and they have been working to keep up with it at a frantic pace. One area that has witnessed tremendous growth recently, is the Stamford hotels. Many new hotels have opened up recently near these corporate offices. Many older hotels have taken to renewing their facilities to attract the business travels. Due to the many hotels being renovated and the new hotels that seem to be popping up constantly, you can book an upscale hotel at the fraction of the cost that you will find elsewhere.
Mass transportation has also seen a large increase in use over the last couple of years. Because of Stamford’s proximity to New York City, many travel for business each and every day. Some are traveling into the city for job opportunities, but lately they are witnessing an increase on the opposite commute. In others words, there are many people that are traveling into Stamford for job opportunities, from the surrounding areas. With the recent spike in usage of the rail system, the city is considering constructing a new stop to service the East Main Street area which is a very busy location. In addition, the city of Stamford is looking into the possibilities of creating an inner-city light rail line. With increased construction of new housing developments, the light rail would provide transportation from these new developments into the transportation center, Landmark Square in downtown.
The addition of many new restaurants such as Shelly’s on the River is definitely due in part to the recent increase in infrastructure in the area. There are more than 70 restaurants and clubs in Stamford Downtown. From fine to moderate dining, a quick bite or just a cup of coffee, Stamford offers you a great selection. Speaking of coffee, there are three Starbucks and three Dunkin Donuts right within Stamford. That has got to tell you that there are a lot of people looking for an extra dose of caffeine, hence there are a lot of people doing business in this area.
With so many options of mass transportation at your footstep, easy access to many major airports it’s no wonder why so many large companies and corporations have made Stamford, Connecticut there headquarters. Although it is a distance of about one hour from New York City it easy to get there making it a real hub for so many businesses. Stamford, Connecticut has become an integral part of the New York Metropolitan area in a major way
